About Us
Brian Platon set up Brian’s Pet Butler Services in 2013 to cater for all of your pet care needs. Back then we offered everything from Pet visits and Holiday cover to Dog walks and training. Over the years we have had to adapt our services and now focus mainly on dog walking and training.
Our dog walks fall in to two categories.
Solo dog walks, these can contain multiple dog, however they must all reside together in the same household.
Group walks, these are a group of up to six dogs from multiple households. All dogs wishing to join a group will be vetted for behavioural issues as well as size and temperament.
We offer multiple training options, “Take and Train” service as well as training classes and 1 to 1 training sessions.
Our training classes and 1 to 1 training sessions are offered in person with an on-line option for the 1 to 1 option coming soon.
We specialise in loose lead walking and general obedience to assist in helping your dog fit in with a busy modern lifestyle.
We focus on using reinforcement and games to train, we don’t consider the use of fear or pain a healthy or ethical way to train a dog. Instead we use motivational techniques such as using markers, toys and food to train.
Brian’s Pet Butler Services are based in Luton, Bedfordshire serving our local community but with our new on-line training programme we would be able to service clients much further afield.
We are available 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday for bookings, these can be in person or on-line.

We do train dogs, but our priority is teaching you how to train your dog for lasting success.
Our goal is to empower owners with the skills and confidence to communicate with their dogs effectively, leading to a well-trained companion and a stronger bond between dog and owner. While we can work with your dog directly, the most impactful and long-lasting results come from you being involved in the process.
Our priority is to provide your dog with the best training backed by modern science. While we can train your dog for you, we believe that equipping you with the skills to do it yourself not only leads to a well-trained dog but also strengthens the bond between you and your companion.

Why is dog training important?
Dog training is essential for building a harmonious relationship between dogs and their owners. It establishes clear communication, eliminating the need for physical force or intimidation from either side, reducing frustration, and promoting a more cooperative relationship. When a dog understands what is expected of them, and an owner understands how to communicate effectively, interactions become smoother, preventing common behaviour problems before they arise.
Beyond everyday interactions, training also helps prepare your dog for essential situations like vet visits, grooming, and handling, reducing stress and improving cooperation in these moments. A well-trained dog is not just a well-behaved companion but also a more confident and secure one.
Training isn’t just about obedience—it’s about safety. As a responsible owner, you must protect your dog from the risks of modern life, as well as their own instincts and natural drives. Teaching fundamental commands such as "Sit," "Stay," "Come," "Drop," and "Leave" not only enhances communication but could one day save your dog’s life. A strong emergency recall is particularly crucial, ensuring your dog returns to you in dangerous situations.
Regular training provides mental stimulation, just as vital as food, water, and exercise. It fosters control, which in turn allows for more freedom on walks. More importantly, it strengthens the emotional bond between you and your dog, building mutual trust and respect—the foundation of a lifelong partnership.

Maintain your dog's fitness to enhance its overall health and well-being.
Exercise plays a crucial role in a dog's physical and mental health. Regular physical activity helps maintain a healthy weight, strengthens muscles, and supports cardiovascular health, reducing the risk of obesity and related conditions.

Importance of Dog Walking
Wild canids spend much of their time exploring their territory—learning who has been around and what has been happening—so it’s no surprise that their domesticated descendants have the same instinct. This makes the daily walk one of the most important parts of your dog’s day.
Regular walks are essential not just for your dog's physical and mental well-being, but for yours as well. Studies show that dog walking reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, and provides excellent exercise while also improving mood and overall mental health. That’s why, at Brian’s Pet Butler Services, we consider it a privilege to be entrusted with this crucial part of your dog’s routine.
On average, dogs take between 6,000 and 12,000 steps a day and spend around 60% of their walk sniffing—engaging their highly developed sense of smell to explore the world. But a walk isn’t just about movement—it’s about enrichment. Allowing dogs time to sniff and engage with their surroundings provides just as much mental stimulation as physical activity, making walks more fulfilling and reducing the likelihood of boredom-related behavioural problems.
The combination of physical exercise, sensory enrichment, and a change of scenery helps prevent frustration and anxiety, promoting overall well-being. Additionally, regular walks offer valuable socialisation opportunities, allowing dogs to interact with other dogs and people. However, socialisation should always be positive and at the dog’s own pace—some dogs thrive on meeting new friends, while others prefer to observe from a distance, and both approaches are valid.
The consistency of a daily walk also provides a sense of security, reinforcing structure and routine in your dog’s life while enhancing both their physical and emotional well-being.
